Global Information Systems代写 It can also be defined as any information system which attempts to deliver the totality of measurable data worldwide within a defined context (Wikiwand).

Introduction

A global information system (GIS) integrates hardware, software, and data for capturing, managing, analyzing, and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information (ISP, 1). In order for organizations to meet technological, environmental, and organizational requirements to improve their products, services’ competitiveness and quality, they need to be run and managed effectively, which can only be made possible through the introduction and implementation of Global Information Systems (Hesham Mohamed, 2015).

It can also be defined as any information system which attempts to deliver the totality of measurable data worldwide within a defined context (Wikiwand). A global information system is basically that which has been developed in order to be used in a global context.  Sometimes, the term even refers to distribution systems, or even software that allows the information to be disseminated on a large scale. The internet is even considered to be one of the major components of the global information system, along with other ERP systems, which are used by organizations all over the world. Anything that connects the world globally, even value chain systems, can be seen as being part of the global information system.  Global Information Systems代写

Regardless of where the data was obtained, GIS is capable of relating and integrating any data in a spatial component. Spatial features are stored in a system that is highly coordinated and thus can pin point any information required, and the data can even be layered with the objective of mapping a place and analyzing it. Thus, the global information system is considered to be the pinnacle of information gathering.

Components of global information systems  Global Information Systems代写

There are five different components of information system which are used globally. They are mentioned below in order:

  • Computer Hardware
  • Computer Software
  • Telecommunications
  • Database and data warehouses
  • Human Resources and procedures
  • Internet

These days, with the technological advancements taking place, information sharing has become much easier. However, the trick is how to make use of the widely available information. Not only that, it can also be noted that the five components mentioned above are the key elements which complete the global information system. Computer Hardware consists of all physical technology which stores information, whereas, computer software is the supporting component, in which the system software is used for storing and disseminating information. This helps in managing the hardware’s operations.

Telecommunications, on the other hand, is the component which connects the hardware together in order to form a network.

The connections are created through fiber optics or Ethernet cables, which help connect the network in a particular area. Database and data warehouses are those places where the data is being stored and can be accessed at any time, depending on whether or not the user has access to a particular database. Companies have their own sets of databases, where they store information that is essential for the progress and success of their business.

Databases and data warehouses have assumed even greater importance in information systems with the emergence of “big data,” a term for the truly massive amounts of data that can be collected and analyzed (Britannica, 2018). The most important component of the global information system is the human element, which refers to all the people who are in need of systems, and wish to run them in order to store and disseminate information. These days, sharing of information has become even more easier via the internet, because it allows for people to be connected across boundaries, and thus, makes it easier for information to be shared amongst all.

Emerging Technologies  Global Information Systems代写

The digital era has seen rise in the technologies that are being used in global information system. Social media platforms, and digital media platforms have allowed advertisers and marketers to reach greater audiences, and at the same time, these platforms have made it possible for information to be shared with ease from one part of the world to another. Advancement and application of information technology are ever changing (MS, 2018). Some trends in the information technology, that are expected to increase in demand include, Cloud Computing, Mobile Applications, Tools for analytics, and improved user interfaces. With a high demand of smartphones, it is expected that the technology that is linked with it is expected to increase, along with the demand for AI. Artificial intelligence software are already underway, and much appreciated by many of the consumers of this technology.

Therefore, along with cloud computing, and cloud network, which allows data to be stored on a cloud device, mobile applications and their usage is expected to increase. What must be noticed is that many of these applications store the users’ data, which can then be accessed by the organizations in order to determine trends, consumer habits and behaviors, gain insights, and thus, market their products and services in a more proficient and efficient manner.

More and more businesses will shift their processes online, and thus, the information will need to be present on the digital sphere, in a user friendly fashion, so that the customers as well as company personnel can easily access them.

More and more products are being made to touch, with touch screens introduced at different intervals, even banking is becoming more and more automated with the passage of time. Thus, user interface will be a key area of interest where global information systems are concerned. Everything will have to be designed in a more user friendly fashion, thereby, allowing people to access it with ease.  Global Information Systems代写

Analytics is a process which helps in discovering the informational patterns with data (Nunen, 2009). With major processes being shifted online, therefore, better analytics will be required in order to make them work an ensure efficient utilization of resources. These are some areas which will require in depth knowledge by all the stakeholders, and are expected to be the core areas where major development will take place. Many people are moving towards artificial intelligence, and the usage is expected to grow by the year 2050. Whether this actually happens or not, only time will tell, but experts believe that AI will help change the manner in which work is conducted and information gathered and disseminated around the world.

Conclusion

To conclude, I would just like to state that global information system is a n integral process which has become integrated in every aspect of life. All over the world, information is being transferred, transformed, and accessed all the time, and this trend is expected to grow. A global information system is the hub of all information. How that information is used, is up to the individual accessing it, however, with the passage of time, the significance of global information system has increased. These days, intelligence organizations have access to all sorts of data, with the satellite pin pointing the geographic location of each individual.  Global Information Systems代写

The significance of global information system is expected to increase with the passage of time.

The components which make up the information system, rely heavily on the internet, as it is the network which connects them with one another. It must be understood that the components described in this paper are those which are integral for running the entire network, and thus form the main components of the system. Globally, the process of information dissemination has become much easier because the internet has become the hub of activities. Social media channels, like Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube are considered to be the platforms which provide the fastest form of information dissemination, with content becoming viral within minutes of posting.

These digital media platforms will need to be monitored in order to ascertain the rising trends and how they shape up society. However, one thing is for certain, digital technology coupled with AI will lead to history changing results that completely transform the manner in which technologies work.
